01. OVERVIEW

I was assigned to teach a summer school for Presentation High School, and given three readings they required students to complete. The readings were chosen for its connection to the Catholic religion, and included the following books:

02. CURRICULUM DESIGN

I was given a general curriculum, which included grammar and reading exercises. However, I believed that the course would benefit if there was some unifying structure binding the books together, so I created my own curriculum in which I discussed the books in relation to the following themes:

  1. Death and trauma
  2. Healing and forgiveness
  3. Storytelling
  4. Motherhood vs fatherhood
  5. Role of race and gender
  6. Religion and faith

03. POWERPOINT

I created a presentation that covers the curriculum I taught, as well as the topics discussed in the class. It could also be used as an outline or storyboard for the online course.

04. CAPTIVATE

As a personal project, I recreated the powerpoint with Adobe Captivate. I wanted to make the class interactive, and accessible in all devices, so I made sure that it would be responsive:

05. FINAL PROJECT

The final project is a video demo of me going through the online course. It includes the curriculum and topics of three books separated as three lessons, as well as a pop quiz and a final essay.
