01. OVERVIEW

The Mural Arts Program is the nation's largest public art program based in Philadelphia, PA. The program connects artists with murals, which are established in public spaces and enriches people's lives. Students can participate in this program by volunteering to help paint the strips that make up parts of the mural.

When I was working in the Mural Arts Program, I helped by doing some of the graphic design, as well as organizing data about the students that the organization uses to determine how successful their arts education program is and what they could improve on in the future.

02. POSTERS

I worked with Jiayun to create educational posters about the Principles of Art using Photoshop and Illustrator. We split the work, and each completed about five or six posters. I was assigned to complete the following posters:

  1. Rhythm
  2. Pattern
  3. Emphasis
  4. Balance
  5. Unity

Each poster uses mural arts, most of which is based in Philadelphia, to educate viewers about how artists use elements of art to create the effects in these murals.
